I worked as design lead and was the primary consultant for project management during the design phase. We realized this project in collaboration with Probots GmbH. I focused on the design aspect while Probots provided a team of developers and later product owners.

ETC (short for Enterprise Training Center) is one of the largest private IT-education provider in Austria. Together with partnering companies Ibis Acam and Aspire Education they reached out to us to build a job-matching platform.

The idea behind this project was to identify people who are interested in working in the IT-sector who may not yet have the full qualifications to start a position immediately. The platform was envisioned as the connecting link to find potential junior-level employees for companies and provide them with the right training courses to meet the companies' requirements.

As this project involved multiple stakeholders, there was a long wishlist and a tight budget. My role in the initial phase was to identify all the important features to conceptualize an MVP.

The platform required a variety of different views as we had to include views for employees, companies, support-admins and super-admins.

Given the project's many features and views, it was essential to design everything with thorough use of components and auto-layout.

I created numerous nested components in Figma, sometimes reaching up to 10 levels. Additionally, I developed a detailed design-system with future development processes in mind.

This approach not only helped speed up the time-to-market due to reusable code but also guaranteed the platform's scalability for future expansions.

User Testing

After completing the first internal demo, we met at the Enterprise Training Center to test our platform for the first time with 20 real individuals.

This User-Testing Session was supervised and led by me and lasted about 3 hours. During this time, we aimed to identify any UX flaws in the platform and evaluated feedback to make it more user-friendly.

For a project of this size, this is a crucial step. After spending months working on it, it's easy to overlook certain details. That’s why it is important to gather feedback from individuals who are part of the target demographic group and have no prior knowledge of the project. The goal for this project is to be as self explanatory as possible.

After gathering a lot of helpful feedback, we not only managed to implement tweaks for the platform itself but also knew what to clarify on landing pages and what to include in FAQ sections.

We managed to launch the first scope within 6 months of development. To attract a large user base of employees from the start, we also created a landing page and included an onboarding feature.

As of now, it’s difficult to measure the impact of this project. The development process is still ongoing and further UX improvements are expected to be implemented.

Next Steps
While new features are being developed in the background for next scopes, the main focus now is to scale the platform and onboard as many users as possible.

This is not only important for the platforms success itself, but also for developing new features and optimizing existing ones. By gathering real user feedback from both an employee and company perspective, we can optimize the platform directly for their needs.
